What you get
All in one $10 pass. Total weight in your luggage: zero grams.
Community Broadcasts from the neighbourhoods you're exploring: which roads are open, how the trails are looking, where the market moved to.
Guidebooks were printed last year. Neighbours posted this morning.
SafeTrack pings your people when you arrive somewhere you've chosen. They don't need the app, and they don't get a live map of your every move.
Mum gets “arrived at the hotel”. You get to stay out for sundowners.
Rolled an ankle on Lion's Head? Flat tyre on the coast road? Emergency SOS sends your location to a partner control room and responders nearby, where coverage applies.
“Just now” can mean next Tuesday here.
Also in the pass: Incident Reporting, and a Visitor Briefing on car guards, braais and what “now now” means.
How it works
$10, one-time. Before you fly, at the gate, or over your first flat white.
Activate with the number you travel with. You don't need a local SIM.
Follow the local updates, let the pings go home, and keep the button for a rainy day.
Made for how you travel
For planners
Flights, stays, the wine-farm lunch with the two-month waiting list: sorted. The pass adds the local layer, so you land at CPT already knowing what the neighbours know, and an “arrived” goes home without you lifting a finger.

Meet the network
Buzzer started in Hout Bay as the way neighbours keep each other posted. The pass lets you in on the group chat that actually works.
The pass
About 33 cents a day, or roughly what you'll tip car guards in your first week. You'll meet them. The briefing explains.
Not insurance, and not a replacement for 112. Emergency response comes from Buzzer's partner control rooms and responders where coverage applies, strongest across Cape Town and the Western Cape. See the coverage map
How locals do Cape Town: your first two hours at CPT, which hikes and when, driving the coast, and what “now now” means.
Questions visitors ask
A local's toolkit. Community Broadcasts for the inside track, SafeTrack pings for the people at home, and Emergency SOS if a day goes sideways. With any luck, you'll only use the first two.
Yes. Activate with the number you travel with, wherever it's from. You'll need data or signal, not a local SIM.
Buzzer is the platform. Your alert goes to a partner control room and vetted responders nearby, and they do the responding, where coverage applies.
No. Your location is shared during an alert, and SafeTrack sends arrival pings for places you choose. Buzzer is POPIA compliant and encrypts location data.
Then you had a cracking holiday, and you still got the local updates and the pings home. The pass ends after 30 days, or renew it if you're staying on.
